How to fix blue screen

A blue screen error (BSOD) can be frustrating, but there are several ways to troubleshoot and fix it:

  1. Restart Your Computer – Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve temporary issues.
  2. Check for Error Codes – If you see a stop code on the blue screen, look it up online for specific solutions.
  3. Boot into Safe Mode – Restart your PC and enter Safe Mode to troubleshoot without unnecessary programs running.
  4. Update Drivers – Outdated or corrupt drivers can cause BSOD errors. Update them via Device Manager.
  5. Run System File Checker – Open Command Prompt as an administrator and type sfc /scannow to scan and repair system files.
  6. Check for Windows Updates – Ensure your system is up to date with the latest patches.
  7. Scan for Malware – Viruses or malware can trigger BSOD errors. Run a full system scan.
  8. Check Hardware – Faulty RAM, hard drives, or overheating can cause crashes. Run diagnostics or replace failing components.
